Road trip to Vegas

Since Noah and Zion had a 5 day weekend during the valentine's day weekend, we decided to head to Las Vegas. But I guess everyone wanted to get married in Vegas on Valentine's Day and so the flights were full. We figured we would make this a road trip.

We left Thursday, 2/12, after the boys got out of school. We had a full tank of gas and plenty of snacks and were ready to hit the road. We barely crossed the bridge to Oakland and Noah popped the famous question: "Are we there yet???" This was a 10 hour trip and who knows how many times he asked me that question.

Friday night Noah, Zion and cousins went out to see the "Thomas the Train" show. They had back stage passes and got to meet with some of the crew members.
I think that cousin Beckham enjoyed the show most out of all the kids. He just loves his choo choo trains.
Cast members and cousins.
The one and only Thomas the Train.
Saturday was the big "Fancy Chloe" party. Chloe, my niece, was having an early birthday party so that Noah and Zion could attend. That was so thoughtful of them. The boys would have hate to have missed the party. They were dressed like 2 little gentlemen with ties, hats and all.
Even little cousin Mimi was there in her fancy tutu to enjoy the fabulous party.
That night D and I got to enjoy Valentine's Day. We got all dressed up and went out to a banquet dinner at one of the casinos. We met up with some friends and had a wonderful evening with a delicious dinner and even a little dancing.

Sunday was all about church and family. And so Monday at noon we started our dreaded trip home. The weather wasn't too great and so traffic was a little backed up here and there. Thank goodness for DVDs. After several hours, the boys started to go a little crazy.

Some of the advantages of road trips are that you get to enjoy the beautiful sites and you get to spend some quality time with your family. A great time for conversation and many jokes. Cherish the precious moments.
